The Problem

SolutionsThe vast majority of websites are hosted in environments where bandwidth, CPU Time and RAM are all limited. The number of users that a site can accommodate depend on how much of these resources are available. As any one of these resources reach their limit, the web site will become sluggish and eventually stop working all together. But what if these limits can be overcome in a cost effective manner without changing the hosting environment? This is the challenge we set out to solve and the end result is Cyber CDN.

One Web Page Many Requests

Lets take a closer look at what happens when a typical web page is requested and then rendered out by a web client.

The web client first requests a web page, it then checks to see if the web page references any additional files such as JavaScript, CSS, image files, etc... If so, all of these files will be downloaded as well. For each additional file the client makes a separate request to the web server.

Edit

Why is the number of requests important?

Solutions

Each time a web server has to handle a request it consumes resources such as bandwidth, CPU time and RAM. Of course the quantity of each resource being consumed will vary based on what is being requested, but the end result is that serving out static content such as images will use up these finite resources. More requests made means more resources will be used up. Eventually the limit will be reached and the website will cease to be functional.

Edit

How does Cyber CDN Solve this problem?

SolutionsCyber CDN works by enabling requests to static files such as JavaScript, CSS, Image files, etc... to be served out by the Cyber CDN servers this ensures the original server serving out the dynamic content is not overloaded.

Edit

How to implement Cyber CDN?

The process is simple, first register your domain name with Cyber CDN. You can then create an alias and register it with Cyber CDN as well. Note an alias is optional.

Suppose you had the web page http://YourSite.com/Default.html which references an image http://YourSite.com/Image.jpeg that you now want Cyber CDN to serve out, all you have to do is change the URL in your web page from http://YourSite.com/Image.jpeg to http://[Alias].YourSite.com/Image.jpeg. That's all!

Edit

How does Cyber CDN work?

Solutions When Cyber CDN gets the request it first resolves where the source file is, for example: YourSite.com/Image.jpeg. Cyber CDN then checks to see if the requested file is on our servers. If not, it dispatches Cyber Bot to YourSite.com/Image.jpeg to pick up the file. The file is then streamed to the client making the request and saved to our servers world wide.

Initial request by any client

Subsequent client requests for the file

Now any subsequent requests for this file will be directly served from Cyber CDN.
